After taking a view looks at the opening, I really liked that the title of the film appeared within the first few seconds of the opening shot. The credit fonts were shaky and I tried to research why that is, but I was given a good answer as to why this is done.
According to eoshd.com, "That is when a film frame passes through a projector, sprockets outside the image area control the vertical motion of the frames through the projector. Over time, a film can become warped or the sprockets can wear, causing the frame to appear to move side to side. It can also be caused by a worn mechanical movement in the camera not keeping perfect registration with the sprockets on the negative or by the film itself being warped by heat."
Because this movie was filmed and produced in the 80s, the technology used to film and create these effects, were not as perfected as they are today. Even movies that use film today create more precise shots and edits. But because of lack of innovative technology, they were stuck with shaky titles. To me, I think it is a really cool effect and I would love to recreate this using either Adobe Premier Pro or iMovie if possible. It would create a dated feel and would make my credits very unique and my whole fim's theme could be based around a "vintage" feel.
