Rough Cut

Personal Reflection

1. How much continuity does the video have? Can it be improved?
The film has good continuity, not any jump-cuts, consistent lighting. The only issue that I noticed was that my actor would look at the camera, witch I did not notice until AFTER we were done filming. I may re-do those shots for better continuity even though I was able to cut that out.
2. To what extent is the video relatable within your chosen genre?
My film is relatable with my genre because it opens with a very contemporary feel and introduces our first character in a very calm and friendly way, as most coming of age films do.
3. Is it relatable as a film opening?
I feel like this film is relatable as an opening, its simply about a boy waking up late and taking his sweet-time before arriving to school. I feel like anyone can relate to that.

Peer Reflection: (from a different group)

1) Where is the setting?- The boys house
2)Who are the characters? How can you tell?- There is one character and he is a young boy getting ready for school. He is the main focus of the camera at all times and is followed throughout.
3) What is the movie going to be about? How can you tell?- The movie is about this boy growing as a person in some way.
4)What genre is the film? How can you tell?- Coming of age
5)To what extent is it readable as a film opening?- I believe it is pretty readable as it focuses on the boy and his daily life.
6) Overall, how might the clarity of meaning in the video be improved? I think some music could improve the clarity and maybe hinting at what he's preparing for or where he's going would help with the clarity.
